A Loving Embrace
by Ron Alfano

They are entwined by their arms
around each other.
They gaze into each other’s eyes,
for a look that neither of them
needs to speak aloud about.

She gazes into his eyes
and sees a tranquil paradise
that is theirs to share.
Her eyes reflect the same.

She caresses his beard and sees
that his face, hair and beard
make a beautiful symmetry.

He caresses the softness of her back.
He knows the soft silkiness of
her skin and face.

They look at each other
with loving smiles.
They have never met before,
but have known each other
for an eternity.

They kiss with meaning.
Then he holds her head
against his body.
For they are one in mind and heart,
just as their love make them one.
