I Surrender
By Stacy Maddox
I don't know how it has come to be
Because it isn't very hard to see
That you have made my dreams come true
And I have fallen in love with you
All the memories of yesterdays gone by
The pain and hunger on the lonely nights
Whispered promises and sad goodbyes
No longer haunt the moonlit skies
I offered what remained of a shattered heart
With a gentle hand, you picked up every part
You were there when I cried and turned away
When the world was cloudy and becoming gray
I need you now, I surrender at last
Hold out your hands for my tormented past
You are the light that shines brightly for me
A beacon in the night, you have set me free.
