Let Me
By Stacy Maddox
Let me wake you with loving kisses
Feeling long, smooth strands of hair
Whisper softly across my dry lips
I have waited all through the night
For the first breath of promises made
When the golden sun made itself known
My whiskey and cigarette were in hand
As I watched you dream in darkness
Skin glowing white, dancing rays of silk
I can't help but smile to no one
When you turn and throw your arm
Over your head and sigh in contentment
So for now, let me pull you in close
As I admire the form of your backside
And revel in the moment you greet the day.
