Missing You
By Jennifer E. Lee
We are driving on your favorite street
And the rain is pouring down
Beating on the windshield that is hardly visible
For the rain clusters our view
As quickly as the wipers wipe the water away
All I can do is think of you
And your beautiful eyes
As I get lost in the memory of your touch
And long for your embrace
I feel your lips gently kissing my shoulder
I ache for your body drawn close to mine
As the night wears on
And the lull of the car
And the metronome of the rain
And the quiet of the night
Serenade me to sleep
With visions of you running through my mind.
