Dream
By Katherine Okpara
Eyes like precious stones
That illuminate a grieving heart,
Speak to me silently
Of hidden tales of desire.
Softly spoken symphonies
Lips the color of a crimson fire truck
On the verge of saving a home from flames,
Ironically set my heart ablaze,
As wildfire passion consumes my brain.
Free -Falling Fast
Arms that fall lightly,
Caressing my waist
Like a graceful swan’s gliding wings,
Ready to catch me the moment I fall.
Light Weight Feathers
Heart that beats rapidly
Like buildings shaking as the earth quakes,
Seismograph of love
Always measuring silently.
Nail-Biting Nerves
I’ve studied your features a million times,
When you visited my thoughts at night;
Yet never has it felt as real,
As now that I’m in front of you.
A Restless Heart’s Satisfaction
Love imagined
Is not always reliable,
But at last I met the one
Who always lingered in my dreams.
Peace of Mind.
