For Taylor
By Frank Grigonis
Your mother is called Summer Night
She gave to you your long, black hair
Your father is the Moon whose light
illuminates your face so fair
so fair that jealous stars come out
at night or day to see you dance
but all those stars can do is pout
until they too become entranced
for you are Beauty's own love child
conceived when Moon made love to Night
You dance for us but for a while
but I shall never forget the sight
