Tugboat
By L.P. Stribling

Be a tugboat for me, please
And pull me into you,
Pull me out of this yucky stuff,
And take me back into the blue,

Get me out of these gusty winds,
To where it’s not so bad,
Be a tugboat for me, would you, dear,
Pull me far away from sad,

Haul me out of this boggy gloom,
Drag me back into the sun,
Pull me out of this moat, with your tugboat rope,
Help me sail back into fun,

Murky water, hurricanes, sea storms,
And the lot,
I need a hefty lift from a tugboat, swift,
And my baby’s all I’ve got,

True is true, and where the water’s blue,
I know you’re there with me,
But without that luck, I’m a sitting duck,
And need your boat to pull me free,

To tug me into calmer waters,
Only once is not enough,
I need a boat that’s prepped to tug,
Anytime the ocean’s rough,

So be a tugboat for me, please,
Haul me back into the blue,
The only waters I want to sail,
Are the ones I sail with you.
