The River of Your Eyes
By Linda M. Crate

Your eyes are a river winding with depths that aren't
always easy to discern, sometimes they are as fierce as
an ocean wave and other times they are as mild as the
warmth of a perfect day of spring; you launch my heart
on new adventures that make it skip a beat but I would
not have it any other way for these voyages have brought
forth my joy and have made me happier than you'll ever
understand I'm certain, but you made me bloom red petals
even beneath the harshest of winter's winds blowing through.
