Color
By Lheydrian Martinez
Color
Gray streaks poking through the pale sky
Flowers peering through the blackened dirt
Blends of gray
Stirs of white
Dashes of black
A gray world
She
Greens
The tops of evergreens
The grass of a meadow
Blues
The underbelly of a blue jay
The color of sea glass hit by the sun
Pinks
The cotton candy at a carnival
The buds of tulips
Browns
The golden bronze coins
The sticks of broken cinnamon
Her image
Full blown color
Her skin porcelain
Soft like the inside of a rose
Her existence
Her very being awakened the world around me
Golden rays
Touching upon treetops
Patches of rubies
Growing upon emerald meadows
I was once content with a gray world
