Red Roses on A Sunday Evening
By Samantha Hannah

Hopefully, I’m the only one who notices the warmth
The room slowly lit up by the jazz music playing, pulsing
like a heartbeat around me.
Her smile is infectious,
soft voice enveloping me like the vanilla scent surrounding the room.
Like a song I vaguely remember,
her words are mesmerizing to my ears.
Across the table, she leans towards me smiling.
Gently touching my arm,
the warmth of her fingers
circling my wrist electrify my body,
sending shivers down my spine,
and impulses through my veins.
As her lips caress mine,
the longing deepens for skin on skin
my body gets lost in the thought of
bucking hips, massaging fingers,
telling untold stories and whispering words
thighs intertwining and lips caressing
Her voice brings me back from my thoughts,
her hand tightening over mine,
as my eyes focus on her face.
The glow of her skin illuminated by candle
on the center of our table
I breathe her in deeply as her fingers again lock around mine,
my every worry already forgotten
