Once-Untamed Spirit
By Stacy Maddox
Lightning illuminates your beautiful face
Searching for someone, calling to me
Blue eyes that are hopeless to shield
The meaning of harmonizing our dance
One step closer to the verge of surrender
Your hand brushes gently against mine
Whispering, we don't need a reason why
Pulling me in, anticipating this moment
In some other place we have collided before
This is not the beginning, nor the end
Our paths have crossed many bridges
I recognize it in your kismet smile
Your mouth was created for comfort
To kiss with a most memorable of secrets
Soft and cool, at first savored touch
Crafted to soothe my untamed spirit
Our bodies slowly melt into one
Reminding me, I am fulfilled at last
Separated only by time and space
Many lonely years, come to a close
No words need to be spoken between us
As two souls rejoin for another epoch
This journey has been etched with eternal flames
Across a star-streaked cosmic canvas.
