Twilit Hour
By Bobbi Sinha-Morey
Love goes by like a leaf,
the joy of catching it is
like the sun shining its
light into my heart,
a lovely cup in my breast.
I know by your smile we
still have tomorrow,
our thoughts enrapt in
what we had yesterday.
Love is a kind of heart
softener, a gift we share
every day. You've given
me more than my dearest
dreaming of. Angels record
and number every gesture
that you make. Now in this
long twilit hour my soul is
pure like a naked flame
for you, and your eyes lean
so close to mine. It's your
spirit that makes them shine.
